Born and raised in Melbourne, sisters Jane, Sarah and Emily Magree have shared a lifelong friendship, which in 2004 crossed over into a fruitful business relationship.
Over a bottle of champagne and much insisting from youngest sibling, Emily, Sinc (Sisters Incorporated) Homewares was born debuting shortly after within the beachside suburb of Beaumaris.
“The initial goal was to set up a one-stop shop where you could grab a wine glass for a dinner party; gorgeous gift for a child’s birthday; exquisite necklace for that little black dress and a couple of new-season cushions to jazz up the sofa,” explains Jane. “Sinc is designed as a shop catering for time-poor people like ourselves with an emphasis on providing a shopping experience worth coming back for.”
With the increasing popularity of Sinc – particularly its kid’s section – the girls opened Sinc Kids over the road a year later. 2009 sees the debut of their Sinc Kids Armadale store.
Priding themselves on exclusive finds and individual service, each store cleverly retains a uniquely personable feel; a trait the girls are most proud of.
“We feel we are on top of the competitors in terms of price and most importantly, customer service,” says Sarah. “I think the lifeblood of this business is a family foundation. That is an ethos you never lose sight of.” Adds Emily; “Sinc remains a sophisticated, unpretentious store that provides something for everyone, any occasion.”
